The cattle are lowing, the poor baby wakes But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky And stay by my cradle 'till morning is nigh. Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay Close by me forever, and love me, I pray Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care And take us to heaven to live with Thee there. Stanzas 1 & 2 Anonymous Stanza 3 John Thomas McFarland (1851-1913)ÿ€ Kincaid plays the melody of "Away In A Manger" on the top two strings while arpeggiating the chords underneath. Each bass not falls on the first upbeat. Pay close attention to the grace notes and slides throughout to capture the bluesy gospel feel. This arrangement flows up and down the entire fingerboard, but it uses many open strings that give you time to shift positions. The second section modulates to the key of A and slithers sideways through the melody for a few bars before coming back strong in measure 22. Kincaid weaves through some descending sixths in bars 30-32 before strumming full chords for a solid concluding cadence.ÿÿCGuitarNylon String Acoustic Guitarh@Standard@;72-(€Nylon String Acoustic Guitarh@Standard@;72-(ÿÿ CFloatingTextSee Performance Notesød$Times New Roman€Lyrics$Times New Roman€EADGBE8šd¨Times New Roman€Flatpick9ª_¸Times New Romanÿÿ CGuitarInÿÿ CTempoMarkerŽ €€ÿÿCSection2 $ €A1st Verse - Key of Eÿÿ CChordTextÀ€À@€À@ÿÿCStaff*!ÿÿ CPositionÿÿ CLineDatad€€€€€ €€€f€€ €D€€€ €€ €€ €€f€€€D€€ €%€€'€€%€€€€€€€€€b€€ €D€€$€€"€€ €€€ € €€‚€!€ €d€"€ €A€$€ ÿÿ CMusicBar €K€ €K€€K€€€2# Ý€€Ç€À@€À€$! €€ €€€‚€€€a€€ €B€€ €€€"€€€ €€ €B€ € €B€ €€‚€ €€a€ € €B€ €€€€€$d€€"€€€€€€€b€€ €"€€ €€ €D€€€€d€€€ €€€b€€ €A€ € €!€dK€€K€€K€€€2÷ ·€€À€À€*! !€€€€€ €€€f€€ €D€€€€€€€€€€ €'€ €€ €€f€ €€D€ € €%€ €€€€€!€€€'€€ €%€€€€€€€€€b€€ €€€$€€€F€€€ €€ €B€€ €€€ €€€‚€€ €A€ € €!€€€"€€€#€ €K€€K€€K€€€2Ñ Ž €€É€ ɀɀɀǀÀ@€'! €€€€€¢€€€b€€ €B€€€€€€€!€€€%€ € €€ €€ €€¤€ €€d€€ €D€€'€€€„€€€%€€ €f€€€€€¢€€€b€€ €B€€"€€€‚€€€$€€ €d€€€€€ €€€‚€ € €d€!€€ €A€#€ K€ €K€€K€€€2¨ e €B2nd Verse - Modulates to A€À€À€À€ €€ €€€I€€€K€€ €)€€ €€€,€€€ €€ €*€ € € €€I€ €€,€ € € € €€€€I€€€*€€ €I€€€€€G€€€%€€ €'€€)€€€I€€€'€€ €G€€€€€#€€€F€€ € €€B€ € €A€!€€BK€€K€€K€€€2 B€€É€ À€€È€À€À@€!- €€€€€‚€€€B€€ €#€€€€€€€€€€ €#€ €€ €€ € €€B€ € €€ €€€€€€€!€€€'€€€`€€€F€€ €'€€%€€€F€€€€€ €F€€ d€€€€€€€g€€ €I€ €€I€ €g€"€%K€€K€€K€€€2\ €€À€ Ç€À€À€! €€%€€€€€€€g€€ €F€€#€€€D€€€"€€ €B€ €"€ €€e€ €€B€ € €"€ € €€€e€€€B€€ €e€€B€€€…€€€d€€ €B€€A€€€…€€€d€€ €…€€b€€€€€#€€€€€ €'€€)€ €€*€!€€€"€ € K€€K€€K€€€2! ê €€À€ À€À€Å€Ç€À€$! €€ €€€*€€€)€€ €'€€ €€€I€€€€€ €G€ € € €€I€ €€G€ € €F€ €€€€G€€€€€ €F€€€€€G€€€F€€ €D€€€ €B€`€€€#€D€b€€ € € €€"€B€b€€K€€K€€K€€€Untitled!h@Bass+&! €€2 }€€ ArialTimes New RomanTimes New Roman
