California dreaming On such a winter's day. Stopped into a church I passed along the way Well, I got down on my knees And I pretend to pray You know the preacher likes the cold He knows I'm gonna stay. Chorus All the leaves are brown And the sky is grey I've been for a walk On a winter's day If I didn't tell her I could leave today. Chorusÿê Slowed way down and played gently and lyrically, this song seems sadder and more evocative than the original even without words. Proctor says, "That a song that sounds good in the key of Am in standard tuning will work well in Gm tuning, because they have similar voicings; both have the root and then the fifth in the bass. There's the same type of relation between the key of Amajor in standard tuning and an open G tuning. Proctor produces the 'slap' harmonics by hitting the strings hard enough to produce a percussive harmonic, but not hard enough to make contact with the fingerboard. He plays the 'sweep' harmonics by touching the strings with his right-hand little finger {because the others have metal fingerpicks} while strumming them with his thumb. Make sure that the fretted melody notes sustain as long as they can. Don't give up on them in shifting left-hand positions. Make it your musical challenge to keep the melody flowing and sustaining even when fingerings become difficult.ÿÿCGuitarSteel String Acoustic Guitarh@Standard>:72+&ÿÿ CFloatingTextLyrics$Times New Roman€See Performance Notes«%Times New Roman€DGDGA#D7xk†Times New Roman€Slap HarmonicsÕBNTimes New Roman€Slap Harmonics¤àTimes New Roman€Sweep HarmonicsÃ!Times New Romanÿÿ CGuitarInÿÿ CTempoMarkerZ € € ÿÿCSection2 å€ÿÿCStaff'$ ÿÿ CPosition€ÿÿ CLineData€!€€€€€€€€€€ €€ €€ €€€€ €€`€ €€@€ € € €€B€ €€€`€€€ €€ €@€€@€¡€€€c€€€@€€ € €€€£€€€"€€€B€€ €€€€ €€€"€B€e€€€"€B€e€€ €"€B€e€ €"€B€e€!€ €"€B€e€"€#€€"€B€dÿÿ CMusicBar €d€ €d€ €€2ÿ ´€€*$ €€€"€B€d€ €€#€€ €€ €'€€%€€ €€€ € €€€€ €€€g€ €€@€ € € €€B€£€€€`€€€€€ €@€€@€¡€€€`€!€c€€@€€ €€€€ˆ€€ €€€)€H€€€)€H€j€€€H€€€)€ € €€!€ˆ€"€€j€#€€)€$€ €€(€Gd€ €d€ €d€ €€2Î ƒ€€*$ €€€(€G€€#€€€€%€€'€€ €%€€€ € €€€€ €€€g€ €€@€ € € €€B€£€€€`€€€€€ €@€€@€¡€€€`€!€c€€@€€ € €€€"€B€£€€€€ €€€€¢€€€b€€€"€@€ € €"€@€!€"€@€"€#€@€a€¡€$€$€B€dd€ €d€ €d€ €€2 C€€$ €€$€B€d€ €€€$€C€€€"€B€€€ €@€€€"€B€c€€€ €€ € € €"€B€c€€€ € €@€`€ €€€€ €B€£€€€€ €@€£€€@€¡€€€`€!€c€€B€€ € €€"€¡€€€ €€€B€£€€ €cd€ €d€ €€2] €€!$€€@€€€€@€a€¡€€@ €€B€€`€ €`€ € €B h€ € €"h€ (€h€H€"h€ˆ€B h€€`h€€`€€€€!€€€€€€€€!€d€ €d€ €€2/ Þ €€$$ €€€€€€€`€€€@€€ € €€B€£€€€`€€€ €€ €@€ €€@€¡€ €€c€ €€@€ € € € €€£€€€"€€€B€€ €€€€ €€"€B€e€€"€B€e€€€"€€"€B€d€€ €€€€¡€€€a€€€€€ €€€"€ €€ €!€€@€"€ €cd€ €d€ €d€ €€2ø ž€€$ €€C€c€ƒ€€C€c€ƒ€€ €@€€B€c€£€€ €B€c€€€C€ €C€ƒ€ €€e€ €€C€ € €e€ € €¡€€€c€€€@€€ €B€€B€ €€€e€€€€€ €"€€B€€ €e€€c€€d€€ €€€€ €€#€€€ €%€!€'€"€ €%€#€€ d€ €d€ €d€ €€2¸ m€€*$ €€€€€€€€g€€€@€€ € €€B€£€€€`€€€€€ €@€ €@€¡€ €€`€ !€c€ €@€ € € €€€"€B€£€€0€d€€€€ €€€€¢€€€b€€€"€@€€ €¢€€#€@€a€¡€€#€@€a€€ €$€B€d€€$€B€d€ €€ €€€$€C€!€€"€B€"€€ €@€#€ €"€B€c€ d€ €d€ €d€ €€2‡ V€€0$ €€ €@€€€€€`€€€@€€ € €€€€£€€€c€€€€€ €@€£€ € € €€`€ !€c€ €@€ € € €€"€¡€€€ €€€B€£€€ €c€€@€`€€€€a(€ƒ(€¡(€€ € @€,@€L@€€ A€,A€LA€€@€`€€€ €#€ €"€B€c€£€"€C€#(€B€£€$H€C€%ˆ€B€&€ €cd€ €d€ €d€ €€2p '€€! €€@€€€€€ €€€€€ €a(€ƒ(€¡(€€ @€,@€L@€ €@€`€€€ €B€c€£€ !€C€€"€€ €£€€"€€#€€ €€€€€€€€`€€€@€€ €a(€ƒ(€¡(€€ @€,@€L@€€¡d€ €d€ €€2A ð €€$ €€£€€€…€€€c€€ €@€€ €€€B€€€@€ €€ €c€ €@€`€ €€@€`€ d€ €d€ €€Untitled!h@Bass+&! €€2 }€€ ArialTimes New RomanTimes New Roman
